Crazy PR stunt of the week… Vampire Drinking Fountains

OK, so we haven’t exactly been keeping this news item up on a weekly basis. But frankly, there’s not been a lot of imagination out there in the promotion stakes. But that’s changed this week with HBO’s London campaign for vampire rights in London.

The TV channel has brought the crusade of the American Vampire League’s cause for equality across the pond, and had the first ever bi-species drinking fountain installed in Pottersfield Park, near City Hall (see pic below). They tell us…

The striking 2.5m fountain includes drinking taps for both water and Tru:Blood, the official blood substitute for vampires to keep away their thirst for humans. The drink has also been infused with the blood of faeries enabling vampires to momentarily become ‘daywalkers’. Vampires should form an orderly queue in the shaded side to get their fill.

It’s not just the drinking fountain that’s catching the public eye though, HBO recently launched a controversial ‘VILF’ advertising campaign. Fangbangers can also visit the www.vilf.co.uk website to vote for whom they think is the sexiest vampire.

True Blood: The Complete Third Season and True Blood Complete Seasons 1-3 box set is available on DVD and Blu-ray on Monday 23 May 2011, from HBO Home Entertainment.
