Tower Heist sees comedy legends Ben Stiller and Eddie Murphy united in an attempt to stick it to the man, an old millionaire who has stolen all their pensions. Stiller works in an upmarket apartment complex, and is left reeling when one of the wealthy residents steals his and all the other employees hard earned cash, so they plot to get their own back, and set to stealing it back and getting justice. To celebrate the release of this hilarious heist on November 2nd, we will look at other films where the everyday people fight for their rights, and end up sticking it to the man!

Trading Places follows Louis and Billy, 2 complete opposites on the social scale who are chosen by 2 rich brothers as pawns in their game. The brothers switch Louis and Billy’s lives around, not caring about the consequences, and when the 2 men find out they are being used in a twisted experiment, they seek their revenge!
Empire Records
Empire records looks at a small time record shop who about to be bought out by a mega corporation called Music Town. Empire Record’s loyal employees do everything they can to stop this from happening though, and pull together despite their differences to save their beloved musical haven.
Dodgeball
This hilarious comedy sees Peter, the owner of ‘Average Joe’s’ Gym, get bullied into selling his business to Globo-gym, owned by obnoxious fitness guru White Goodman. His only chance to raise the money he needs to save the gym is to enter him and his friends into a dodgeball competition with a big cash prize, although White doesn’t take that lying down and forms a rival team to take them down, not expecting ‘The Average Joe’s’ to actually be pretty good!
Robin Hood
Robin Hood is a classic tale of sticking it to the man, and his ‘steal from the rich, give to the poor’ message has been engrained into popular culture. Hood works tirelessly for the underdogs and is intent on justice and equality for all.
School of Rock
This feel-good film has an entire song about sticking it to the man, and wannabe musician turned teacher Dewey Finn is intent on teaching his new pupils to do what they want too rather than what is expected of them. Dewey’s life lessons stick with his young pupils, and soon the strict parents even start to come around and see that life isn’t all about conformity.
Erin Brockovich
Erin Brockovich is an inspirational tale of a young office clerk who fights against the giant Pacific Gas & Energy company when she finds out accidentally that they are knowingly poisoning a town with their water and refusing to do anything about it. Brockovich, played by Julia Roberts who won an academy award for this performance, wins in the end, and through her incredible hard work wins a massive pay-out for all those affected.
Fight Club
This film sees quite a controversial way of sticking it to the man, with lead roles Ed Norton and Brad Pitt heading a terrorist organisation, called Project Mayhem, which aims to bring chaos to the world. The group start with small things from changing the pictures on air safety cards to destroying a popular coffee chain, but eventually their plans get out of control which leads to an explosive finale…
Norma Rae
Norma Rae sees Academy award winner Sally Field as the title character and this uplifting movie is based on a true story of a woman’s fight to unionize her workplace. Norma Rae believes herself and her colleagues to be mistreated, so she fights for justice and in the end she is a hero to all.
