British heritage films go online

British Council revives short films to share 'UK's cultural, sporting, industrial and political heritage'. A selection of historic short films dealing with topics as diverse as Shakespeare and the healthcare system, and dating as far back as 1939, is being made publicly available by the British Council, the UK's international cultural relations body. The films were originally created for a variety of uses. Some, like the educational 'Life Cycle of the Onion' would have been shown to schoolchildren, while others would have been screened to embassies and consulates across the globe.
